Automation Engineer (Level 1)
- 1-5 years experience
- PLCs including: Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, GE 90/70, etc.
- HMI Software –Wonderware InTouch, Intellution FIX
- Visual Basic experience would be helpful
- BSEE, BSCE or equivalent
Automation Engineer (Level 2)
- 1-5 years experience
- BSEE, BSCE or equivalent
- Work experience involving on-line process monitoring, higher level process control, networking and database systems is desirable.
- Programming Languages: C, C++, Visual Basic, C#, Fortran, others
- Steel Industry experience is very helpful. Proficiency with PLC based control systems is a plus but not required.
Sales Engineer – Meltshop Group
- Meltshop Sales Engineer reports to the Meltshop VP of Sales and Technology. This position sells engineered solutions, new equipment and revamping to the Steel industry in general and to the Meltshop sector in particular
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 3+ year’s of experience in selling and or designing equipment for the steel industry.
- Knowledge of Meltshop equipment and their operations.
- Excellent customer relation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- High level of self-motivation, work with little direction
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and PowerPoint and AutoCAD.
- Ability to travel 30-50% of the time
- Experience in selling and or designing bulk material handling equipment in addition to the above will be preferred.
Sales Manager – Technical Services and Automation
- This position sells engineering services, studies, equipment revamps, spare parts and Automation systems to new or existing accounts by using technical and industry knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products and services to their needs
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field and 5+ year’s related experience
- Technical knowledge of Reheat, Heat Treat and Carbon Baking furnace design and operation
- Excellent customer relation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High level of self-motivation, work with little direction
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel 60-80% of the time
Proposal Engineer – Electrical and Automation
- This position assists with the preparation of technical proposals and specifications and to provide sales support for process control and automation systems as well as services and equipment upgrades
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering (or a similar field) and 3+ years related experience
- Technical background and experience with specification, estimation and operational characteristics of AC and DC industrial electrical equipment including motors, drives, motor control centers, motor protection panels, transformers, switchgear and related equipment
- Experience with specifying and estimating costs for instrumentation and control & automation systems, including software
- Experience with determining engineering and construction effort, schedules and costs for capital projects
- Experience with writing proposals for the supply of electrical and control systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Steel industry and/or industrial furnace experience is preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent customer relation skills
- High level of self-motivation
- Ability to occasionally travel to domestic and international destinations in support of sales efforts
Outside Sales Engineer - Meltshop Technical Service
- Responsible for the sale of mechanical & electrical equipment, chemical injection equipment; alloy and flux systems, studies, as well as, supporting the Meltshop Technical Service Department as required
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering – Advanced degree a plus
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Sales experience including technical proposal writing
- Familiarity with combustion and heat transfer applications
- Related work experience involving the design and analysis of EAF burner/injector/lance systems.
- Knowledgeable about steel making, alloy & flux material handling systems, process controls, and burner/injection/combustion systems
- Knowledge and understanding of EAF control systems is desirable
- High level of process and mechanical aptitude
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- High level of self-motivation and ability to work with limited direction
- Excellent computer skills
Proposal Engineer- Melt Shop Technical Service
- The Proposal Engineer’s role is to assist with the preparation of technical proposals and specifications and to provide sales support for melt shop processes and systems as well as services, studies, and equipment upgrades.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electro-mechanical Engineering (or a similar field) and 3+ years related experience. We will also consider a lesser degree with commensurate experience.
- Technical background and experience with specification, estimation and operational characteristics of industrial mechanical equipment with electrical and control components.
- Experience with determining engineering and construction effort, schedules and costs for capital projects
- Experience with writing proposals for the supply of mechanical, material handling, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power delivery systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Steel industry and/or industrial furnace experience is preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent customer relation skills
- High level of self-motivation
- Ability to occasionally travel to domestic and international destinations in support of sales efforts
Revamp Sales Engineer
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering – Advanced degree and PE license a plus
- Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization. Good customer relations skills. People skills are a must.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
- Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
- Familiarity with combustion and heat transfer principals
- Related work experience involving the design and analysis of combustion systems or industrial fuel fired furnaces is desirable
- Associated process control experience and/or mechanical design/analysis of furnace components is also desirable
- Enthusiastic and creative problem solver with a “can-do” attitude
- Must have a good command of the English language, oral and written
Field Service Technician - Technical Services Group
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering
- Experience involving the setup and tuning of combustion systems of furnaces
- Ability to read and understand electrical control and combustion piping schematics
- Basic understanding of heat transfer and combustion principles such as radiation, convection, conduction, orifice flow metering, valve sizing, air to fuel ratios, combustion emissions, effects of temperature and pressure on volume flow, and PLC control systems is a plus
- Basic mechanical skills should include knowledge of burners, valves, actuators and linkages, transmitters and fans
- Knowledge of basic safety procedures for work in confined spaces, with natural gas systems, lock-out/tag-out procedures, fall protection, and ladders and scaffolding
- Applicant should have good communication skills for working with a wide variety of customers
- Expected travel is roughly 50%
